About Abercus

Our Company

Founded in 2010, Abercus is a dynamic, independent consultancy specialising in advanced engineering simulation – computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA) and the development of bespoke software tools – within the energy, marine, defense and built environment sectors.

Abercus operates an Integrated Management System (IMS) which ensures that all work is undertaken in accordance with ISO 9001 and the supporting Engineering Simulation Quality Management System (ESQMS) by NAFEMS, the international association for the engineering modelling, analysis and simulation community.

Our approach

Abercus can help whether you’re new to advanced simulation or whether you already a regular user. The way in which we engage is flexible and is entirely dependent upon your particular requirements.

This might include:

• undertaking consultancy projects in the traditional sense, with a pre-defined scope of work, as an entirely independent third-party consultant
• providing support and/or training to companies that may already have a CFD/FEA capability, perhaps to assist with peaks in workload or to help develop client simulation capabilities further – typically an Abercus consultant will be seconded into the client organisation for focussed periods of time
• developing simulation capabilities and providing bespoke software to enable future work to be undertaken in a reliable and consistent manner – Abercus has developed simulation capabilities for several major oil and gas companies whereby an Abercus consultant is seconded into the client organisation for a prolonged period, and Abercus software has remained in place after the secondment to facilitate the client organisation moving forward.

Our experience

The team at Abercus has a long and proud track record in the field of advanced simulation which extends for more than twenty years.
